Exchange 2007 SP2  issue with Attachments
Hello all. Since we have gone to Exchange 2007, We have several outside companies that we work with and they will not receive our attachments. It is REALLY Strange. Example. If I send an email with 3 attachments to 4 people at a certain company.... Only 1 person will get the attachments..... It doesnt make sense at all. The other 3 people just get the email with no attachments. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks

So it is just a certain company, and just certian people within the company. Are you sure it is not an Outlook security issue that is blocking attachments for those particular users? Ya thats not it. Its random. One person will get the attachment and then on another day. A different person will get the attachment. Its multiple companies as well. Its the "Small" Companies that we have this issue with. Its like Exchange 2007 is sending email in a way that smaller types of Email servers are not interpretting it properly.

Can you share what is structure of mail flow to internet in your environment. Did you check some external users mail flow with attachment like yahoo, google etc. Please disable AV on your external SMTP (HUB/EDGE/Legacy) server which is sending mail to internet and test it.Anil

Yeah I was thinking this was a AntiVirus Issue but I didnt disable it because I was thinking this would be more of a everytime thing instead of random. My Mail server sends SMTP email to our OverSeas SMTP Mail server and it goes out from there. (This wasnt my choice of design).

I realize this isnt always the case but one company uses Outlook Express and I had them check the WEBMail and he can see the attachments in the Webmail but his Outlook Express cant see the attacments. I told him to maybe try Microsoft Outlook. The other 2 companies that sometimes cant see attachments has Lotus Notes and then the other is using Outlook 2007. This is such a stupid problem.

That makes it sound like a problem with a winmail.dat attachment.
